San Francisco Peoples' Organization presents 'Auction
off Downtown'
An evening of Art, Community and Politics
April 8, 2006 at 7:30 p.m.
What: The event will feature a silent and a live auction,
led by guest auctioneer Matt Gonzalez, as well as a reading by
San Francisco Poet Laureate Jack Hirschman, live music, and a
DJ-ed after-party. Marcus Darkraven will present a screening of
his film, "For Real Bayview," currently in production.
Work by over 50 artists will be auctioned off, including Susannah
Bettag, Luis Delgado, Nguyen Qui Duc, Mark Ellinger, Kate Eric,
Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Tim Gaskin, Matt Gonzalez, Albert Herter,
Martha Hubert, Lucho Pozo, Clare Rojas, Lisa Rybovich Cralle,
Debra Walker, Andy Vogt, Kelly Yount, Arngunnur Yr, and many many
more... The show is curated by Bruno Mauro, Siri Margerin, and
Catherine Rauschuber.
*"Downtown Afternoon" by Debra Walker is one of the
pieces in the auction.
