Couple arrested on San Francisco bank robbery charges

SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) - A Bonnie and Clyde-like duo were arrested
Monday evening in connection with three San Francisco bank robberies.
Police arrested Jessica Hewitt, 32, of Pennsylvania and Michael
Collins, 37, of Los Banos, Calif., at a Lombard Street motel.
Security cameras at the Wells Fargo bank at 557 Castro St., in
the Castro District, and the Bank of America at 288 West Portal
Ave., in West Portal, caught the couple leaving the robberies
in taxis, according to police.
The pair are also suspected of committing a third bank robbery
downtown on Friday, at the Bank of America at 445 Powell St.,
near Union Square.
Hewitt and Collins have been charged with two counts of bank
robbery, one count of attempted bank robbery, one count of conspiracy
and three counts of burglary, police reported.
