A San Francisco police officer shot at and missed a robbery
suspect near a McDonald's in the city's Ingleside neighborhood
early this morning, Sgt. Steve Mannina said.
At 1:25 a.m., plain clothe officers witnessed "what they
believed was going to be a robbery, or a robbery in progress,''
at a McDonald's in the 1200 block of Ocean Avenue, according to
Mannina.
As officers were attempting to detain the robbery suspects, an
officer fired at and missed the suspects, according to Mannina.
He said that a woman in a nearby building went to an area hospital
"and claimed she was injured as a result of the incident.''
Police are investigating exactly what prompted the gunfire and
are trying to determine both the cause of and extent of the woman's
injuries.
The suspects managed to evade police and fled the McDonald's,
Manina said.
