Twenty-year old shot in the back and killed
in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) - The San Francisco Police Department
released more details of a shooting this morning that killed one
victim.
A 20-year-old San Francisco man who became the victim of a homicide
has been identified as Jamal Smith, San Francisco medical examiner's
office Investigator Tom McDonald reported.
Gittens said the Police Department received word at 9:39 a.m.
of shots fired in the area of the 1100 block of Eddy Street.
Officers responded and found Smith suffering from gunshot wounds.
A San Francisco Fire Department dispatcher said the victim had
been shot in the back.
Smith was taken to San Francisco General Hospital where he was
later pronounced dead, Gittens reported.
Police did not release any suspect information. The homicide
unit of the Police Department is handling the investigation.
Gittens said there is no further information at this time.
