SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) - A 17-year-old girl is dead and
a male victim was being treated for a gunshot wound to the leg
following a double shooting last night in San Francisco's Bayview
district, a police sergeant said.
San Francisco police Sgt. Neville Gittens said someone got out
of a car and shot two people who were among others standing on
the 5000 block of Third Street near Quesada Avenue around 8:10
p.m.
Gittens said a suspect described only as a 19- to 20-year-old
man remained at large. No further description of him or the vehicle
he was riding in was immediately available.
Homicide investigators were still questioning witnesses and had
notified the San Francisco Police Department's gang task force
of the shootings, according to Gittens.
The female victim received a gunshot wound to the chest and was
taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where she was pronounced
dead, Gittens said. The male victim was expected to survive his
wounds, he said.
