San Francisco police are searching for a number of suspects
today following a bloody Labor Day weekend that has left four
people dead since Sunday.
The fourth person to be killed since Sunday has been identified
today by the medical examiner's office as 26-year-old David Sterling.
Sterling was shot at around 2:30 p.m. at Brookdale Avenue and
Santos Street on Monday. Sterling, who was visiting his girlfriend,
stepped outside to see friends and was shot several times, according
to police.
He died at San Francisco General Hospital.
The Police Department previously reported that the San Francisco
resident was 23 years old.
Police are investigating three other separate homicides that
occurred during the holiday weekend.
Officers discovered John Daniel Schirra, 22, dead in the 2600
block of San Jose Avenue around 3:42 a.m. Monday.
On Sunday, Byron Smith, a 32-year-old San Francisco resident,
was found fatally shot in the 100 block of Velasco Avenue around
9:40 a.m., according to officials.
Earlier that day, Dejohn Maybon, 35, was fatally shot in the
6600 block of Third Street around 2:30 a.m.
No arrests have been made and the homicides appear to be unrelated,
officials said.
