A suspect in a fatal
shooting that occurred outside a San Francisco nightclub in
the South of Market neighborhood Sunday is in custody today, according
to police.
Kenoye Stroman, 23, of Oakland, has been charged with murder,
according to the San Francisco Police Department.
Stroman allegedly fired from a vehicle into a large crowd at
Fourth and Howard streets, striking a man and a woman.
The shooting took place near Jillian's, located at a complex
at 101 Fourth St., said Greg Stevens, chief executive officer
of JBC Entertainment Inc., which runs Jillian's.
It wasn't a Jillian's patron who was responsible for the shooting,
but the victim was a patron, Stevens said.
"We see it as kind of a tragic and senseless act,"
Stevens said. Ronald Jacques, 27, of Los Angeles, was pronounced
dead at the scene. A 29-year-old San Francisco woman suffered
non-life threatening injuries.
The incident was reported at about 1:50 a.m.
Police stopped the suspect vehicle, a white Dodge Charger limousine
with red, white and blue decals, at Grand Avenue exit in Oakland.
