One dead after shooting on Polk Street

An early morning shooting today claimed the life of a male victim
in San Francisco, police said.
The shooting occurred at about 1:30 a.m. in the 1300 block of
Polk Street, according to police. Preliminary reports indicate
an altercation broke out between the victim and two suspects prior
to the shooting, police said.
The victim, who appeared to be about 20 years old, was transported
to San Francisco General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
No arrests have been made and an investigation into the shooting
is underway.
