A 21-year-old man was the victim of a fatal
shooting in San Francisco this morning that also left two
people in critical condition, according to officials.
Erick Balderas and two others were found suffering gunshot wounds
in the area of Treat Avenue and 23rd Street in the city's Mission
District at about 3:20 a.m., an officer said.
Balderas, a San Francisco resident, died and the other two victims
were transported to San Francisco General Hospital, according
to police.
The attack followed a string of apparently unrelated shootings
that began at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday with the fatal shooting
of 20-year-old Allen Bow.
Bow was shot in the 1300 block of Polk Street following a reported
altercation with two suspects, according to police. He was pronounced
dead at San Francisco General Hospital.
The second shooting occurred at about 1:50 a.m. today in the
city's South of Market neighborhood.
At least one person inside an unidentified vehicle shot four
people near Mission and 11th streets before fleeing the scene,
according to police.
The victims were taken to San Francisco General Hospital where
they are reportedly in stable condition, an officer said.
About 20 minutes later, at 2:10 a.m., officers responded to the
500 block of Florida Street, also located in the Mission District,
where a dance club had apparently just closed, the officer said.
A fight that had allegedly broken out in the club earlier may
have prompted an unknown suspect to shoot two people in their
legs, according to police.
Both victims were in stable condition and transported to a local
hospital.
