The San Francisco Police Department's gang task force was called
to the scene of a fatal shooting of two men in San Francisco's
Mission District this morning, according to Officer Ed O'Toole.
The shooting occurred at about 5 a.m. when two male suspects
in their 20s driving southbound on South Van Ness Avenue saw two
other men in their 20s standing on the sidewalk, O'Toole said.
The men were talking to two women near the corner of 18th Street
and South Van Ness Avenue when the suspects exited their vehicle
and shot the victims, O'Toole said.
The suspects fled in the vehicle southbound on Capp Street, according
to O'Toole.
The gang task force was called to the scene along with several
other units, but police have not determined the motivation behind
the killing, according to O'Toole.
The victims have not been identified, according to the San Francisco
medical examiner's office.
