Shooting in Sunset District,
suspect in custody

A man was shot in the chest in San Francisco's Sunset District early tonight, and a suspect is already in custody, police said.

The shooting was reported at 5:48 p.m. in the area of 46th Street and Vincente Avenue, according to San Francisco police.

The victim and suspect appear to know each other, police said. The victim was transported to San Francisco General Hospital, his condition unknown.

Investigators are searching for the weapon used in the shooting, police said. No other details were released on the arrest and investigation.
