First, I want to apologize to Chuck Gonzalez and the truly wonderful
duet from Indiana and Felix McNee (making his debut as a drummer)
for interrupting their show at the Make-Out Room on 22nd between
Mission and Valencia by knocking David Sloane down and tossing
a glass of wine in his face. It was entirely out-of-line although
not, unfortunately, out-of-character for me. I really should do
something about my temper and my heavy drinking.
So, how's your weekend going? I feel like I've been skating
on the edge of a razor blade for the past couple of weeks. The
full moon party last week was bizarre enough but things have remained
at the critical level on my emotionometer since then and that's
unusual.
I'm not alone. Last night at the show where Chuck introduced
numbers from his latest cd (which Jens and I have been listening
to one song at a time for months as he refined it - thank god,
already - it turned out great and it was wonderful to hear it
in a nightclub)
last night at the show, Krissy Keefer and
Luke Thomas said that they were tired of waiting for Matt Gonzalez
to enter the mayoral race and may enter themselves if he didn't.
Let's see, how many does that make?

3. Chicken John
4. Josh Wolf
5. Ahimsa Sumchai-Porter
6. Luke Thomas
7. Krissy Keefer
That's a pretty good list of candidates even without the big
three (Gonzo, Chris and Ross). We got to talking about that and
decided it would be a good idea to borrow an idea from Diamond
Dave that he came up with during the D-5 supe run in 2006.
Mayoral Candidates' Collaborative
Or, as I wanted to dub it: 'The People as Candidate'. Bottom
line is that we have a meeting and agree to help each other raise
the 5k to enter the race. Why the hell wait for leaders who have
clearly abandoned us to another 4 years of Newsom?
I have my entry fee, courtesy of my Uncle Sam. I have no idea
how any of the other candidates are doing. Fact is tho, we only
have 34 days left to qualify everyone who wants to run. I'm thinking
in terms of a series of fundraising parties since most of us are
used to putting together large gatherings. We'll keep you up to
date.
For you numerologists, note that this idea came to earth on 777.
