Espanola Jackson announces run against Supervisor Sophie Maxwell
January 3, 2006, 12:00 p.m.
Longtime Bayview activist Espanola Jackson will formally kick
off her campaign Tuesday for District 10 Supervisor.
The event will be held at the Elections Department located in
the City Hall basement at 12:00 p.m.
"We have experienced six years of the incompetency of this
Supervisor Sophie Maxwell and two years of this current City Hall
administration to address comprehensive problems facing the citizens
of San Francisco," Jackson said in a prepared statement.
"Neighborhoods can longer take the disdirection and indifference
of this current supervisor and the present administration."
Campaign issues include "the highest murder rate in ten
years, lowest conviction and apprehension rate of most major cities,
lack of vocational and job training for adults and youths; and
lack of additional housing for families with children."
