By Angela Hokanson, Bay City News

March 9, 2006

Embarcadero Station in San Francisco is being evacuated due to a "minor fire in the trackway,'' according to a Bay Area Rapid Transit dispatcher.

A plume of black smoke is rising from a street vent in the area of Market Street between Front and Bush streets.

The dispatcher expects all BART trains in and out of San Francisco to be delayed by approximately 15 minutes due to the fire.
