Taxi commissioners facing immediate mayoral action following dismissal
of executive director

Following the Tuesday dismissal of Taxi Commission Executive Director Heidi Machen, Mayoral Press Secretary Peter Ragone told the Sentinel today, "immediate action is forthcoming."

The commissioners have given us good reason to take action against the commissioners, Ragone explained.

Ragone wouldn't elaborate on the action being considered but it is widely believed some or all of the commissioners will be replaced.

Machen, whom Ragone said attempted to reform the taxi industry, was dismissed by a 4-2 vote.
