Civic Center Honor of San Francisco Homeless Dead Continues


A three day Civic Center vigil for those who died homeless in San Francisco last year continued September 20 from 5:00 a.m. through 3:00 p.m. closing ceremony. Visitors to wall bearing names of 1,993 homeless dead in the last 10 years brought personal remembrance, prayers, and flowers. Sponsored by Religious Witness with Homeless People, its director, Sister Bernie Galvin noted 149 people died homeless in 2004.
