Supervisors committee recommends Bush impeachment

A committee of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors today recommended
full board approval of a resolution calling for President Bush
to be impeached.
Committee Member Sean Elsbernd cast the sole 'no' vote on the
three-member panel, suggesting supervisors better serve San Francisco
by focusing on local issues rather than national questions.
Member Tom Ammiano retorted district supervisors can just as
productively repair potholes and take a stand on important national
matters.
Chair Mirkarimi indicated dismay Bush had not been already impeached.
"I absolutely agree that President Bush and Vice President
Cheney...have acted with impunity in that there has been...absolutely
incredible, immense amount of evidence as to why there should
have been impeachment hearings and I would think by now having
the resulting action of having President Bush impeached,"
agreed Rules Committee chair Ross Mirkarimi.
The resolution was drawn by Committee Member Chris Daly.
