Pelosi challenged to a debate
From the Office of Congressional Candidate Krissy Keefer
July 14, 2006
SAN FRANCISCO -- Refusing to impeach George Bush, supporting
the Patriot Act, ignoring her constituents in San Francisco -
Nancy Pelosi can run, but she can not hide, says the Green Party
candidate challenging Pelosi this November.
Today, Green Party candidate for Congressional District 8, Krissy
Keefer is walking to the post office at the corner of 23rd Street
and South Van Ness to mail a certified letter to House Minority
Leader Nancy Pelosi.
A carbon copy is being mailed to the League of Women Voters.
In the letter, Keefer urges Pelosi to schedule as many debates
as possible in her home district between now and the November
6 election.
"I am very eager to debate Ms. Pelosi," said Keefer,
who will be photographed by supporters as she mails the letter
today. "There is no excuse for her continued support of the
ongoing occupation of Iraq, her refusal to take real action to
end global warming, and her utter lack of accountability to her
constituents," said Keefer, referring to Pelosi.
Keefer has scheduled a press conference for Tuesday August 1
at 11:30 AM in front of the Federal Building at 650 Golden Gate
Avenue in San Francisco. August 1 will mark 98 days until the
November 6 election, and Krissy hopes for many lively discussions
with Nancy Pelosi and other candidates Republican Mike DeNunzio
and Libertarian Philip Berg.
