San Francisco medical cannabis patients, caregivers and their
supporters are planning an 8 p.m. reception at San Francisco International
Airport to welcome Steve Kubby back to San Francisco from Canada,
where he had been seeking refugee status.
Representatives of the groups Axis of Love San Francisco, Hemp
Evolution and the California Marijuana Party claim that Kubby,
who may be jailed in Placer County for growing medical cannabis,
will not be allowed the use of medical cannabis in jail, which
they say is necessary for him to survive a rare adrenal cancer.
The reception is scheduled to take place in the Alaska Airlines
area of Terminal 1 at San Francisco International Airport. The
groups will be meeting at 5 p.m. on the steps of San Francisco
City Hall to leave for the airport on Bay Area Rapid Transit and
by carpool.
