University of California San Francisco
to hold mini medical school in May

SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) - The University of California, San Francisco announced it will hold its "Mini Medical School" for the public beginning in May.

This year's school, "Bringing Science to Life: The Promise of Modern Medicine," will allow members of the community to see and hear what goes on in university classrooms and research labs, the university reported.

Classes will be held every Wednesday from May 3 to June 7 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at university 's Cole Hall.

Each class includes a one-hour lecture followed by a question and answer session. Tuition for the Mini Medical School is $75, the university reported.

A complete list of the classes, which include discussions on the use of embryonic stem cells, infectious diseases and addiction, can be found on the Web site, http://lifelonglearning.ucsf.edu.
