Mayor Newsom updates appointments
to city boards and commissions

San Francisco, CA Mayor Newsom today announced
the following new appointment and reappointments to San Franciscos
Boards and Commissions:
Environment Commission- New Appointment
Ruth Gravanis is a self-employed Environmental Consultant with
clients ranging from the Alliance for a Clean Waterfront, Treasure
Island Wetlands Project and the Earth Island Institute. Gravanis
was the Director for the Save the Bay Campaign, San Francisco
Bay Association and Executive Director, San Francisco Friends
of the Urban Forest. She is the recipient of the Special Service
Award, National Sierra Club and the Jack Morrison Lifetime Achievement
Award, San Francisco Tomorrow. Ms. Gravanis received a BA in English
and a MA in Elementary Education form San Jose State College.
Mayor Newsom also named the following reappointments to the citys
Boards and Commissions:
Andrea Cochran- Art Commission
Bruce Lorin- Entertainment Commission
Morgan Gorrono-Civil Service
Don Casper-Civil Service
Scott Helfond- Health Services Board
Dr. Jamal Dajani -Immigrant Rights
Sonia Melara- Immigrant Rights
Kok Po Sam Ng- Immigrant Rights
Deborah Strobin-Library
Mike Garcia- Board of Appeals
Charlie Borromeo- Relocation Appeals Board
Bobbie Brown - Southeast Community Facility
Juan Fuentes- Southeast Community Facility
Reverend Kenneth Sampson- Southeast Community Facility
