49ers respond to Feinstein football bill

SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) - San Francisco 49ers officials announced
Thursday they were committed to building a new stadium "in
the Bay Area," careful phrasing that signaled little about
whether the team will move to Santa Clara.
The team statement was issued regarding U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein's
introduction
of federal legislation, the Football Fairness Act, which would
require National Football League approval as part of teams' decisions
to relocate.

Cold front threatens homeless, elderly

With a freeze watch hovering over the Bay Area,
local and state officials are taking measures to protect the
most vulnerable citizens.
The National Weather Service reported that an
arctic air mass will move across the Bay Area, setting the stage
for very cold weather and several hours of freezing temperatures
in the interior valleys.

Hewlett Packard defendant to appear in Federal
Court

SAN JOSE (BCN) - One of the defendants
in the Hewlett Packard spying case who is already facing possible
state prison time is scheduled to appear in federal court today
after being charged with federal crimes in connection with the
scandal.
