SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) -- Two men are in custody after allegedly
attacking and robbing a teenager and his mother in the Mission
District early this morning.
San Francisco Police Officer Terrye Ivy said the suspects began
following the 15-year-old boy and his 33-year-old mother around
2:25 a.m. near 24th Street and Treat Avenue. The suspects then
confronted the victims at 25th and Folsom streets near Garfield
Park.
In the ensuing fight, one of the suspects allegedly punched the
boy repeatedly in the face, then took off his belt and attempted
to strangle him.
The son suffered bruising to his face. The boy's mother was unhurt.
A nearby police officer spotted the attack and arrested the suspects,
a 19-year-old man and a 24-year-old man, whose names were not
released. Several items belonging to the mother and son were recovered
and
returned to them.
