Gifted San Francisco youth lost to street violence
December 29, 2005
A gifted young San Franciscan lost his life to street violence
Monday, becoming another statistic in city homicides of 2005.
Terrell Anderson, a 23-year-old father and promising basketball
player at City college, was shot in the head multiple times outside
a Broadway dance club early Monday.
As a father, he traveled to New Orleans to retrieve his daughter
two weeks before Hurricane Katrina devastated the area. He recently
won a sports scholarship to the University of San Francisco.
No arrests have been made in the slaying.
The San Francisco Police Department is understaffed by some 250-300
officers, the Police Chief's Office has estimated.
