EVENT NAME: Qantas Airways Inaugural Flight Press Conference
Qantas Airways Global Goodwill Ambassador John Travolta and San
Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom will join Qantas Airways executives
Peter Gregg, chief financial officer, Wally R. Mariani, senior
executive vice president, and Board Directors Patricia Cross and
Gary Hounsell, Australian VIPs and civic representatives at San
Francisco International Airport for a press conference commemorating
the airline's launch of new non-stop flights between sister cities
San Francisco, California, and Sydney, Australia. Travolta, in
his formal captain's uniform, will fly his own Boeing 707 aircraft
painted in the original Qantas livery to the event. A water cannon
salute of the Qantas 747-400 aircraft will mark the first return
of Qantas to SFO in more than a decade.
