SAN FRANCISCO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (BCN) -- A winter
storm hitting the East Coast has forced United Airlines to
cancel this afternoon all flights from the San Francisco International
Airport to the John F. Kennedy International Airport, according
to airport duty manager Dennis Neves.
"Everything on the East Coast is pretty bad,'' Neves said,
since the area is "getting nailed with wind and snow.''
All other airlines are experiencing cancellations or very heavy
delays to the East Coast "between the Carolinas north to
New England,'' according to airport duty manager Bob Schneider.
Airport officials are urging Bay Area travelers heading to the
East Coast to call and check on their flights before going to
the airport.
Oakland International Airport and Mineta San Jose International
Airport officials did not report any flight cancellations or delays.
