Former Supervisor Tony Hall has refiled his criminal complaint against Supervisor Sean Elsbernd aide Olivia Scanlon with the San Francisco Police Department Fraud Division, Fog City Journal has learned.
Hall said he filed the complaint with the SFPD, March 4, because he “has not received a response from the district attorney” and believes “District Attorney Kamala Harris’ political connection to Supervisor Elsbernd may preclude her interest in pursuing the complaint.”
Hall filed a criminal complaint against Scanlon with the Office of District Attorney on October 24. In that complaint, Hall alleges Scanlon falsified evidence and committed perjury when she testified before the San Francisco Ethics Commission against Hall during a June 9 public hearing to investigate alleged money laundering and campaign finance violations by Hall.
That filing resulted in Scanlon pleading for Fifth Amendment protection against self-incrimination, forcing the Ethics Commission to find Hall not guilty on the most serious charge of money laundering, an offense that carried a maximum $240 thousand fine.

“I am seeking justice for a politically motivated investigation against me which had the desired effect of derailing my campaign for Mayor in 2007 and my campaign for Supervisor in 2008,” Hall said. “Scanlon committed two serious felony offenses that D.A. Harris is obligated to investigate.”
Responding, District Attorney spokesperson Connie Chan said earlier today: “We cannot confirm or deny the existence of any investigation,” a standard practice she said.
According to Hall, District Attorney Office Special Operations Division Chief David Pfeifer has been assigned to the case and began an investigation today.
“I just got a call from Pfeifer this afternoon,” Hall said. “It appears the investigation is now proceeding.”
Hall said he also plans to file the complaint with the criminal and civil grand juries later today.
“Should there be more foot dragging,” Hall added, “I will file the complaint with the Office of State Attorney General.”

If the City won’t investigate Elsbernd’s residency status, you really think think they’ll move on this re-filed complaint, Tony?
Don’t hold your breath.

If I am not mistaken it was Elsbernd who got the pension/lifetime health benefits forfiture for moral turpitude violations into the City Charter also.

I’m sure that we can count on the SFPD to reprise the FBI’s little “accident” with Zula Jones.
Back in the day, Jones worked for the Human Rights Commission, she steered the contract for the SFO people move to Adtranz at the behest of Willie Brown. The beans were spilled, federal corruption charges were filed, but the federal court found that the FBI, get this, violated Jones’ civil rights by raiding her office!
Jones still works for the Human Rights Commission.
Let’s see if Harris, the SFPD or Herrera grants the same deference the FBI did to Jones to the legislative assistant of Newsom’s former legislative liaison, he who was appointed after Newsom began his bait and switch on TI.

Could someone please post a link to the criminal complaint filed by Mr. Hall? That is if it actually gets put up on SFGOV by our ever protective DA’s office.

Why is this woman still on the City payroll? Since she has invoked her 5th admendment right against self-incrimination she obviously believes she has committed a crime. Sounds like moral turpitude to me. Her pension should be forfited also because of the moral turpitude clause. Please somebody get this woman out of the city pig trough that is Sean Elbernd’s office. President Chiu, where are you? Behind closed doors with Gavin, trying to salvage this disgusting, disgraceful mess?

Politics gumming up the gears of justice in SF? K Harris and D Herrera are more than upholding the historical practice of uneven legal prosecution and legal protection in SF. I don’t know that THall is “right” but I say “go get ’em killer”.
