In yet another entertaining cartoon parody by EyeOnSF and posted on YouTube, District Attorney George Gascón is observed discussing with his campaign consultant the rationale behind choosing Harvey Milk Plaza in the Castro to kick off his election campaign.

In the skit, Gascón, a former Republican turned independent turned Democrat, dressed in a police uniform asks his campaign consultant to “remind me again why we are having my campaign kickoff at Harvey Milk Plaza.”

The consultant responds, “George, I told you, because your conservative base is not enough to get you elected. You need support from LGBT voters.”

Gascón then asks,” What about the Mission and appealing to Latino voters?”

The consultant responds, “You are not popular in the Mission. Most Latino voters opposed the Sit-Lie law and they associate you with that, and most Latino voters don’t trust the cops. Speaking, of which, why are you still wearing your police uniform?”

Gascón responds, “Oops!  I forgot I am not the chief of police anymore. Do I need a different uniform to be district attorney?”

The goofs just get funnier ending with Gascón dancing to YMCA by the Village People while his frustrated consultant throws his hands in the air exclaiming, “Oh, shit!”

From the author:  “George Gascón held his campaign kickoff at Harvey Milk Plaza in the Castro. Some people thought that was an odd choice. Here is a dramatic imagining of the conversation about that decision between Gascón and his campaign manager.”
