Assemblymember Mark Leno attended a press conference and rally Sunday to support Proposition H, the San Francisco Clean Energy Act, and to oppose Proposition 8, a measure on the state ballot that would “eliminate same-sex marriages” in California.
“What Prop H does is lays out a process,” Leno said, “so experts will testify, reports will be written, and the PUC (San Francisco Public Utilities Commission) will make a recommendation to the Board of Supervisors. That’s all Prop H does.”
On Proposition 8, Leno said: “It would repeal constitutionally guaranteed rights for law-abiding, tax-paying citizens.”
“So what these two measures have in common is that our adversaries can’t sell their message honestly because it’s not a message that voters like,” Leno said. “They have to reinvent it and, in fact, try to sell the voters a less than truthful message, some might even call them lies.”

Lies about propostion 8? Barack Obama, Joe Biden, John McCain and Sarah Palin all agree that same sex marriage should not be legalized and that marriage should be defined as being between a man and a woman. If this is a civil right then why is not Obama defending it as such? Could it be his christian religion? Ask yourself: Which parent – the father or the mother – should a child be denied? Pretty easy isn’t it.
