San Bruno City leaders lashed out this week at Governor Jerry Brown’s veto of six bills that were unanimously supported by the California Legislature and would have brought important reforms to the California Public Utilities Commission, the Pacific Gas & Electric Co. and other California utilities.
Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E) was recently criminally indicted for twelve violations of the federal Pipeline Safety Act. No executives of PG&E were indicted.
The City of San Bruno filed a lawsuit in Superior Court against the California Public Utilities Commission yesterday demanding the release of public records related to the September 2010 PG&E pipeline explosion in San Bruno. CPUC’s refusal to release the records is indicative of a cover up of its “cozy relationship” with the the utility, the lawsuit states.
Local environmental and community organizations today lauded the San Francisco Local Agency Formation Commission (SF LAFCo) decision last Friday to complete the unfinished clean energy build-out plan for the city’s CleanPowerSF program.
